POM: May

Goals: May, Lucy

Absolutely superb- the end!

That sums up how the team played today. For the whole game the football was quality.

After the last game against Leafield I knew it was going to be tough, especially with no subs but today the girls were absolutely brilliant!

From first minute we played some brilliant one touch passing down the right and Andy and I said we could just stop there it was that good!

We built on that really quickly and May picked the ball up, drove into the box and scored really well past the keeper. The perfect start.

It was difficult conditions as the pitch was rock hard. We spoke about the bounce before the game and the girls dealt with it really well for the whole game.

I'm going to mention all the girls today as they deserved it. Lucy from the start was everywhere. She put their defence under pressure and pressed the whole game. She deserved a goal and I'm glad there is a clip of the penalty as it was brilliant.

Nehna played in an unfamiliar midfield position but her awareness, marking, passing and tackling was excellent.

Georgie in midfield was tenacious and combative, playing some lovely football and coming close to scoring herself.

May led from the middle today, she was everywhere and her communication, work rate and passing was excellent. A much deserved goal to cap a brilliant performance.

Jess was superb, her awareness was brilliant and some of her footwork superb with fantastic crosses into the box.

Penny was awesome! Composed and solid at the back, huge throws and corners that begged a finish. At the end we asked her to hit the front post from a corner and she literally did just that!

Emily organised and led the back line. On a number of occasions 1v1 she never gave up and got us out of trouble. She played the ball intelligently start many times to start off an attack.

Seren was cool and composed, never phased and played us forward really well. Her throw ins also created some really good opportunities for us.

Finally Florence decision making was excellent and dealt with everything coming at her particularly some tricky long bouncing balls.

This is the best we have played for a long time and so proud of the team.😀

Well done Lions!
